How to add regular events

It's really important to add relevant events to your calendar, like school holidays, this holidays or bank holidays. This helps the system to analyze the history and creates a better Forecast for your hotel.

Events can be added by using the Event Filter, for . For this you need to choose at least the Event Class and Country. If you want to be more granular, you can also filter by Region.

This will save the specific event to the Chosen chosen events' area and the filter options to the Chosen chosen Events Filters area. Later, you can edit or delete this event by editing or deleting the Events Filters related to it.

If you don’t find the event you are looking for or have a specific one from your hotel’s region, you can add a custom event. This helps the system to analyze the history and creates a better Forecast for your hotel.

Tip

Expert tip: When setting up a custom event, select the day of arrival for the beginning date and the date of the last overnight stay for the ending date. The event might still continue for more days, but if everyone is checking out, it is not relevant for the hotel history anymore.

  1. Click on ADD CUSTOM EVENT. This will create a new event that you can edit.

  2. Add the event name;

  3. Select if guest guests usually arrive on the day before the event;

  4. Add the event’s dates, if available, for current, past 3 and next 3 years by clicking on the + button.

  5. Click on the ✅ button to save.

TIP 1: If you have the dates of the event of the past years, also insert them.

TIP 2: When setting up a custom event choose the day of arrival for the beginning. The last day of the event should equal the date of the last overnight stay. The event (e.g. a fair) might still continue the next day but as everyone is checking out it is not relevant anymore for the following day.

After saving the events, they will also show up in other sections of the software. In details, you will see the events you saved in the functions: Manage and Analysis.Once you created your custom events, you can later edit or delete them.

  • Delete: Click on the 🗑 to delete, and then on ✅ in the confirmation pop up.

  • Edit: Click on ✏️ to edit, once you are done with the changes, click on ✅ to save.

How to check events' performance

You can test the forecast with the chosen event filters. It uses historic data and calculates the forecasts' effectiveness. By selecting the correct events, it can be improved considerably.

In the events page, tab event filters, go to the Event Filter Performance, there you will be able to press the COMPUTE button, that will calculate the events' performance. Try to reach a score of 30 or below - the lower, the better.
