Change your Rates

The Manage window displays a calendar for the dynamic price recommendations. The current month is automatically displayed. If you want to inform yourself about another one, you can choose it by using the two arrows, top left in the calendar. With the right arrow, you leaf through the future, with the left into the past. With the button "today" you get back to the overview of the current month.

What can one take from one day of the month?

1. The currently set price for the primary room, the respective room category, is located in the upper left corner (primary rooms are explained in more detail under "Settings"> "Room categories")

2. The rate suggested by RateBoard is displayed directly below the current price.

Price proposals are displayed in three different colors.

  • Gray = no change

  • Red = reduce rate

  • Green = increase rate

How do I change rates?

Once you selected a day or several days you would like to update, the Rate Editor opens automatically on the right-hand side. Here you have the overview over all the current rates and the suggested changes for each individual room type.

Here we provide symbols. If you like to change the feature you simply click on the symbol of the feature you like to use.

If you like to go with the suggested rate you just need to click the green “accept all” button. Afterwards the “Save” button will pop up at the bottom of the page.
By pressing the SAVE key, the system accepts the changes in a log, in which all changes can be checked again. The log is located below the calendar.

Each line can be deselected by pressing on the tick. Once the changes are released, they are also stored in the system. Deselected changes will not be accepted. This makes it very easy to make changes to individual room types.

In case you would like to individualize the rate from the suggested rate you will use the blue “Value” field. Here you have several options to adjust your rate. Those options are, adjust the rates, based on: +/- €, +/-% or the total amount in €. The rate changes of the primary room type will be applied to the other room types accordingly.

IMPORTANT: If you want to individualize the rate you have to click on the blue “adjust” button instead (step 2.).

How do I change rates of a specific room type?

In order to change the rate of a specific room type you open the dropdown menu of it. Here you will find the current rate difference to the primary room type that you could adjust according to your needs.

Please keep in mind that you will always adjust the difference to the primary room type rate as shown in this example.

As you can see we changed the difference from 20€ to 25€. Once we clicked “Adjust” we see the rate change in the upper right corner where we see the rate increase from 190€ to 195€.

If you like to set back the rate to the original settings (as defined in the price level) you can do so by clicking on “Restore Default”

How could I check if my rate updates where send successfully?

Once you send a rate update you will receive a direct success information on your screen.
With certain PMS however, RateBoard does not push the data, but it will be collected "pulled" by your system. The frequency depends on your settings in the PMS. In this case RateBoard will give you the first "success" as a confirmation that we provide the rate update to be picked up.

During the time the rate update is pending in RateBoard you will see a gray spinner next to the rate.

A red spinner will appear if there was an error while sending the rate. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your revenue manager in this case.

Where can I get information about a suggested rate?

The overview is available clicking on the eye symbol above.

In this overview, relevant information for the selected date are available. it includes, last year comparison same day of the week, for the following KPI's:

Manage Restrictions (Protel, Seekda, DIRS21, Simple Booking)

How to set and manage restrictions in RateBoard

RateBoard supports the setting of restrictions for the PMS Protel, as well as for the Channel Managers Seekda, DIRS21 and Simple Booking.

Restriction management is carried out via the Manage area.

First, the data in the Manage is selected for which changes are to be made. This can be a single or several days.

By clicking on the symbol "Restrictions", the control menu opens.

The following restrictions can now be implemented for the selected data:

  • MinLOS = Minimum length of stay

  • MaxLOS = Maximum length of stay

  • CTA = No arrival possible (closed to arrival)

  • CTD = No departure possible (closed to depature)

However, it should be noted that not all systems support any restriction. If there are any open questions, the supported restrictions can be found under the "Settings" menu item "Interface configuration".

How are the restrictions set?

MinLOS and MaxLOS are set by the two underlying sliders. There are settings from 1 to 14 days possible.

If you want to cancel an existing MinLOS or MaxLOS, the corresponding day / days must be selected. Then the sliders have to be moved all the way to the left.

In the case of CTA and CTD, the restrictions are managed by clicking the "Closed", "Open" buttons.

Additionally, the restrictions for all defined room category groups can be set individually. For this it is only necessary to remove the rake from the field "Accept restrictions for all room categories".

Afterwards the room category group can be changed in the mangle and those separate settings in the restrictions, for the desired date, can be made.

How to manage the room category groups can be found in the article "Settings"> "Inventory". Click here to be redirected.

If all restrictions have been successfully set, they must first be saved. Subsequently, the protocol of the desired changes opens below the calendar. Only when the protocol has been confirmed by "Release binding" will the restrictions be sent to the corresponding interface.

How do I know which restrictions I set when?

If restrictions have been set for a particular day, they are displayed at the respective date in the lower area of the tile. Bottom left are the restrictions for MinLOS and MaxLOS and on the right for CTA and CTD.

In the case shown above, we have set a minimum stay of 5 days for 22.07. Additionally, we have closed the hotel for departures.

If you want to set general restrictions (e.g. MinLOS for longer period)  you can manage them in the specific  section: Settings - Restrictions. Here you will find the article with the instructions on how to do that.

TIP: Set your general restrictions in the dedicated section inside the Settings, and manage the daily changes using the rates calendar.
